Piezzle — piezzle.fun · updated 8 October 2026
Piezzle is a hobby project: you make a jigsaw of your own photo and solve it together with whoever you send the link to. This is what the site uses, what for, and how to be rid of it.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, email address, birth month (month and year only, to know whether you are 16) and your password, which we keep only hashed and cannot read ourselves.
- Signing in with Google, if you choose to: your name, email address and profile picture as Google passes them on, and a number Google knows you by. Only to sign you in and show your name with your puzzles.
- Signing in with e-mail: your name, your e-mail address and your password — the latter only encrypted, so we cannot read it either. Your address is used only to confirm it and for a new password; never for advertising.
- Month of birth: month and year only, not the day. To know you are 16: younger, the law does not allow an account of your own; a parent makes one for you.
- Your photos: the photo you upload, cropped and saved again without EXIF data (such as where it was taken).
- Puzzles: how far a puzzle is, who laid which part, the play time and your settings (table colour, language).
- Guests: someone who joins through a link without an account gets a random guest name and a cookie that recognises that guest.
- Who is here now: while the site is open, your browser says about once a minute that it is there, and on which puzzle. We keep that for an hour at most.
What the admin sees
The site's admin sees per player, guests too under their guest name, which puzzles were played, how many pieces were placed and who is playing now. To improve the site and spot abuse. Your e-mail and IP address are not shown there, and looking into a puzzle is not possible.
Cookies
The site itself sets only what it needs: one cookie that recognises your browser (pid) and, when you sign in, one for your
session (sid). No analytics by others. Only where an ad is shown (see below) may Google set cookies, and
only with your consent.
Advertising
Beside puzzles of 25 pieces or more there may be an ad from Google AdSense: along the bottom when your screen is upright, on the right when it is flat. Never on the puzzle itself.
- Never for children: not on an account a parent made, not for anyone under 16, not for a school's pupils, not with children's puzzles, puzzles under 25 pieces or colouring pages.
- Consent first: Google asks your consent before using cookies. Say no and you see ads that fit the page, not you.
- Personal for adults only: personalised ads only for someone 18 or over by their month of birth who gave consent. For anyone whose age we do not know: never personal.
- What Google gets: what your browser sends to every website (such as your IP address and the page); never your name, e-mail address, photos or puzzles. See how Google uses advertising.
- Without ads: a subscription shows none.
Who sees the photos
A new puzzle is private: only you see it. Others see it once you share its link, or once you — having finished it yourself — share it with the community; then everyone who is signed in can see and play it.
Video and audio chat
Picture and sound go directly between the participants' browsers and are not stored anywhere. The chat is only on when the puzzle's maker turns it on, and your camera and microphone only when you turn them on.
Where it is
The site and its database are hosted by Strato in Germany. Playing together runs through Cloudflare, which passes the traffic on and keeps a puzzle's state for a while. If you choose to sign in with Google, that goes through Google. No data is sold or shared with anyone else.
Sending in photos
A photo you send in for the puzzles is seen only by you and the admin until it has been reviewed. What rode along in it (EXIF, location) is removed. Sending it in gives the photo to Piezzle. Approved, it joins the puzzles with your name on it and anyone may play it; rejected or withdrawn, it is deleted. If you delete your account, photos still waiting go with it; approved ones stay, with only your first name on them.
Deleting
You delete a puzzle you made yourself on the front page; its photo goes with it once nobody uses it any more. You delete your account yourself on the Account page. Your name, e-mail address, password, birth month, profile picture and way of logging in go. The puzzles you made and your times in the score lists stay, under a made-up name, because others may still be playing them; delete your puzzles first if you do not want that. To have those removed too, or for any other question, email [email protected].
